Spores mostly allantoid 7-9 x 1.5. Conforms to D. decorticata as described in 'Some species of the genus Diatrype from the Czech Republic', Chlebicki A., 2005."; DNA barcoded; Genbank:QB009835; Lit. cited: 98;406
; Additional NotesIn the past this would have been recorded as D. stigma but comments in Fungi of Temperate Europe (1998) raise doubts. D. stigma stated to be mainly on Quercus and have spores 8-11 x 1.6-2.7; D. decorticata spores 7-9(-10) x 1.2-1.5. ITS barcode was a good match to sequence KT004563 (559/561), an isolate derived from an ‘initial necrotic lesion on stems’ of Fraxinus excelsior in Poland and labelled Diatrype stigma. However, this sequence KT004563 does NOT match (<=96%) any of the other D. stigma sequences on Genbank, suggesting a misidentification.
