Spores 23.5-27.7 x 20.6-24.7, Wall thickness 1-1.5. Fabian Ernst (Group Expert on Rusts, Smuts, and other Phytoparasitic Fungi FB group) commented on recent submission of similar image that 'The typical thing that allows for macroscopic ID is the fact that uredinia grow along the stem in spring time. That's typical of K. uredinis because it overwinters as a mycelium in the host plant unlike the two Phragmidium species which overwinter by teliospores. He also commented that 'K. uredinis does not form aecia', stating K. uredinis forms primary and secondary uredia (see Gäumann, Die Rostpilze Mitteleuropas 1959).
